Egg Hunt:

Come out on Saturday, April 12 and enjoy a morning filled with goodies, games, pictures, and an egg-cellent Parks and Recreation Egg Hunt! The Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 10:00am-12:00pm outside the Lucy Simms Center and Cecil F. Gilkerson Community Activities Center. This is a free event for children 0 through 5th grade. No registration required.  Guardian must accompany child.

Drop in any time between 10am and 12pm and find 10 eggs to collect your prize.

Eggstraordinary Egg Hunt:

Join us for our third adaptive egg hunt. This egg hunt will be located inside the Simms Center gymnasium and is open to any individual with physical or cognitive disabilities. Drop in on April 12 any time between 10am and 12pm and find 10 eggs to collect your prize! Friends and siblings are welcome to join.

Adaptions will include:

  • Beeping eggs for visually impaired participants
  • Easy to reach eggs at varying heights
  • Magnetic eggs with "wand" so participants can collect eggs without having to grasp or bend over
  • Small number of participants in the gym at a time
  • Flat gym floor for easy maneuvering
  • Enclosed space with doors that can be shut to prevent elopement.
